Everything you need to know about using Get Bios to prepare for your meetings.

Getting Started

Get Bios researches meeting participants and delivers professional bios to your inbox before your meeting starts. Here's how it works in three steps:

  1. Sign up — Create a free account at getbios.app/signup. You'll receive a magic link via email to log in (no password needed).
  2. Forward a meeting invite — When you have an upcoming meeting, forward the calendar invite email to one of our magic email addresses (see Bio Types below). The system extracts the attendee names and email addresses automatically.
  3. Receive bios — Within minutes, you'll get an email with professional bios for each attendee, so you can walk into the meeting informed and confident.

Tip: Add our email addresses to your contacts so you can quickly forward invites from your phone. See Adding to Your Contacts for instructions.

Email Addresses & Bio Types

Get Bios offers three levels of research. Forward your meeting invite to the address that matches the depth you need:

Type Email Address What You Get
Quick quick@getbios.app Brief summary — name, title, company, and a short professional overview. Great for routine meetings.
Detailed detailed@getbios.app In-depth profile — career background, recent activity, interests, and conversation starters. Ideal for important meetings.
Investigation investigation@getbios.app Deep research with citations — comprehensive background, news mentions, and sourced references. Best for high-stakes meetings.

Each bio type uses its own separate quota. Using a Quick bio doesn't count against your Detailed or Investigation limits.

Adding to Your Contacts

Your dashboard has download buttons that save a VCF (vCard) file — a standard contact card format supported by all major platforms. Once imported, you can forward meeting invites to Get Bios directly from your address book.

iPhone / iOS

Open the downloaded .vcf file from Safari or the Files app. iOS will prompt you to Create New Contact or Add to Existing Contact. Tap the one you prefer and then tap Done.

Android

Open the .vcf file from your Downloads notification or a file manager. Android will ask which contacts app to use (typically Google Contacts). Select it and tap Save.

Gmail / Google Contacts

Go to contacts.google.com, click Import in the left sidebar, then select the downloaded .vcf file and click Import.

Outlook

In Outlook, go to File → Open & Export → Import/Export, choose Import a vCard file, and select the downloaded file. The contact will appear in your Outlook address book.

Mac (Apple Contacts)

Double-click the downloaded .vcf file. Apple Contacts will open and show a preview. Click Add to save it to your contacts.

Your Dashboard

The dashboard is your home for managing Get Bios. Here's what you'll find:

  • Quota overview — The top bar shows your current usage for each bio type (Quick, Detailed, Investigation).
  • Magic email addresses — Your personalized forwarding addresses with VCF download buttons to add them to your contacts.
  • Bio request history — A list of all bio requests you've submitted, including status, attendee count, and bio type.
  • Bio results — Click any completed request to read the full bios for each attendee.

Quotas & Usage

Each bio type has its own separate quota. Using Quick bios does not count against your Detailed or Investigation limits.

  • Monthly reset — Quotas reset at the start of each calendar month.
  • 90% warning — You'll receive a warning when you've used 90% of any bio type's quota, so you can plan accordingly.
  • Quota exhausted — Once a quota is fully used, requests of that type will not be processed until the next month (or until your plan is upgraded).
  • Team vs. personal quotas — If you belong to a team, you may use the team's shared quota pool instead of your personal limits. See Teams for details.

Tip: Check your current usage anytime in the top bar of your dashboard.

Teams

Teams let you share a quota pool and manage bio usage across your organization.

  • Creating a team — Go to the Teams tab on your dashboard and create a new team. You'll automatically become the team owner.
  • Inviting members — Send email invitations to colleagues from the team management page. They'll receive a link to join your team.
  • Shared quotas — When a team member submits a bio request, it draws from the team's shared quota rather than their personal quota.
  • Team vs. personal — Your personal quotas remain available if you leave a team or send requests from a non-team email address.

Account & Settings

  • Magic link login — Get Bios uses passwordless authentication. Enter your email and we'll send a login link. Links expire after 1 hour.
  • Stay signed in — Check "Remember me" when logging in to stay signed in for up to 30 days.
  • Profile — Update your display name and email address from the profile section of your dashboard.
  • Billing — Manage your subscription, update payment methods, or change your plan from the billing settings. Plans can be upgraded or downgraded at any time.

Troubleshooting

I forwarded an invite but didn't receive bios

Check that you forwarded to the correct address (quick@, detailed@, or investigation@getbios.app). Also check your spam/junk folder. Bios are typically delivered within a few minutes, but complex requests may take longer.

My quota is exhausted

Quotas reset at the start of each calendar month. You can also upgrade your plan for higher limits. If you're on a team, ask your team owner about the team's quota status.

I didn't receive my magic link email

Check your spam folder. Magic links expire after 1 hour — if yours has expired, request a new one from the login page. Make sure you're using the same email address you signed up with.

The bios seem inaccurate

Get Bios uses AI research to compile profiles, and occasionally information may be outdated or imprecise. Investigation-level bios include citations so you can verify key claims. If you consistently see issues, please contact us.
